Discovery Cove presents a wide range of aquarium-related exhibits for younger audiences including an array of creatures in natural habitats, hands-on interactive displays and small-scale interpretive alcoves and graphics. Guests pass by a full-size lobster boat and through a replicated fishing village. Further on, a dynamic overhead wave crash exhibit immerses visitors inside a wave, providing a new perspective on a familiar event.
This project received the 1989 Significant Achievement Award from the Association of Zoos & Aquariums and the 1990 Certificate of Design Excellence from Print, America’s graphic design magazine. Many design experts consider this one of the best aquatic exhibits ever produced for children.
