When Charleston needed a new visitor center they selected Lyons/Zaremba. LZI collaborated with city officials, historians, preservation experts and museum curators to help tourists learn about and plan their visits to this popular southern city.
Today the completed center is located in the restored 19th century J.R. Deans Warehouse–the site of America’s first passenger railroad station. Visitors venture over a model of the city, into a re-created “single” house and through interpretive and interactive exhibits. The center also brings together visitors and craftspeople in a lively marketplace, where visitors can purchase and take home a memory of Charleston.
