At the Tennessee Aquarium, visitors explore the full length of the Tennessee River system. This exploration moves from the river’s headwaters in the Great Smoky Mountains, to its meanderings through valleys and marshes, and to its discharge in the swamp forests of Louisiana and, ultimately, the Gulf of Mexico.
Signature exhibits include: the large-scale immersive Cove Forest exhibit where visitors wander through a living indoor temperate forest; the Mississippi Delta where a slice through the swamp land of the Mississippi creates close-up views of alligators, snakes, and water fowl; and the Rivers of the World Gallery where visitors get snapshot glimpses of diverse rivers from around the globe.
