Lyons/Zaremba worked with the Wildlife Conservation Society’s (WCS) Bronx Zoo and the zoo’s exhibit design group (EGAD) to create interpretive exhibits for the Congo Gorilla Forest. In this highly acclaimed new exhibit, visitors observe an outdoor rainforest trail from an indoor pathway. Along the way, visitors experience gorillas, okapi and mandrills up close. After learning about the animals, visitors can link each species with corresponding WCS programs underway in Africa. Later on, as visitors gain familiarity with conservation issues they can stop by a voting station to “elect” their favorite conservation programs and thereby channel a portion of their admission fees to the programs of their choice.
